Due to heavy ice conditions, our last scheduled trip of the season will be at 5:00pm off the Island today. We want to thank everyone who rode with us this year and made this one of the best years we have ever had. We look forward to starting up again in April and helping you get to the Island!

How many people can say that they have ridden a bus to Mackinac Island?

Shepler’s is offering yet another unique service for you this winter: we will pick you up at your car with our bus and drive you directly onboard the Sacre Bleu.

You’ll stay in the comfy, heated environment–keeping you out of the elements–as we make the 45 minute journey to the Island.

That’s pretty cool, right? I guess you could say that we’re thinking “outside the boat.”

There are more than 5 reasons to visit this Fall, but these are definitely the highlights. See if you agree.

Very few crowds. If you want to feel like the Island is yours, this is the time to come. Take a silent stroll through the interior paths or sit leisurely on the front porch of Grand Hotel.
Colors. The Island is beautiful in the Fall as the folliage is set ablaze with red, orange, and yellow.
Events. There are events happening on the Island throughout the month of October. Check out our events calendar for a few examples.
Sales. If you are a shopper, there is no better time to come to Mackinac Island than October. You will find great deals at every store. It’s a great time to start your Christmas shopping!
Captain Bill’s Pumpkin Spice Latte. OK, so we had to toot our own horn a little bit, right? Stop in for a tasty treat as Greg and Barb fix you up a seasonal Pumpkin Spice Latte as you wait for the ferry. It is delicious and it will keep you warm in the Northern Michigan weather!

If you are still holding onto tickets that you purchased online in 2011, please note that some venues will be closing soon. Below is a list of closing dates for the events that we sell online. Once the attractions close for the season, the online tickets are no longer valid.

This month we will once again be welcoming the Win-Some Women conference. They joined us in May for their Spring gathering and we are looking forward to their arrival in just a few short days. If you are attending the conference, please watch for signs for parking areas as you arrive. See you soon!

Below is the ferry schedule for the four days of the conference. Please note that the St. Ignace schedule has fewer times than the Mackinaw City schedule. We cannot guarantee any additional departures other than the ones shown here.

Great Turtle Race – October 22nd

For those of you who are participating in the Great Turtle Race, please identify yourself at the ticket office for a special rate for round trip tickets. Our ferry schedule for that morning from Mackinaw City is as follows:

7:30 am

8:30 am

9:00 am

9:30 am (We suggest that you are on the boat by this departure to make it in time for registration.)

Take the Boat to Walk the Bridge!

If you are planning to walk the Bridge this Labor Day, take the boat instead of the bus! Just purchase a round trip ticket and take the boat from Mackinaw City to the Island and hop on the boat for St. Ignace. When you arrive in St. Ignace, we shuttle you down as close as possible to the start of the walk. Parking is easy here at the Mackinaw City dock and the walk back to your car will be a breeze after your five mile jaunt!
